  • Curious Pop-up

As part of a wider band activation, we designed and developed this pop-up bar for the amazing people at Curious Brewing. Consisting of a 'mother' unit and detachable display fridge modules - the footprint can be adjusted pending site requirements. Each unit is rolled into place with a beautiful stained solid ash slatted screen behind. A lovely thing for lovely people! Props to the incredible River Collective who helped us with this project. Such a great project (if we do say so ourselves...)

  • Bahama Mamas

Ooft, what a project this is.. We worked super hard with the owner to help re-brand and re-invigorate a tired site that wasn't fulfilling its potential. Paying homage to colouful Caribbean roots and encompassing an, 'everyone's welcome approach' we designed all aspects and oversaw the fit-out process from start to finish. Stripping back layers of the building to reveal stonework, re-configuring the multi-level layout and playing with a mixture of textures and finishes make for something pretty sweet!

  • Shibasaki Awesome Hair

A few years back we met a hugely talented hair stylist that had trained in Japan & London before finally landing in Cornwall. We tried to help him open a salon but things didn't work out. Like many who come to Cornwall, he wanted to work close to the beautiful beaches. "Why not convert a van and park up wherever the view is good," we suggested to him. Which kinda sowed the seed which sparked the project which led us here.. Shibasaki Awesome Hair! A mobile hair studio that's fully kitted out, light, airy and can be found at some of Cornwall's most stunning locations. One of those rare projects that was a huge pleasure to work on with a great client which we helped realise a lifetimes dream. Now let's all go get a haircut!

  • Cornucopia

Working in collaboration with brand creators and graphic heroes, Leap, we were asked to design and develop the interior of this multi-million regeneration project. Honest materials, blasts of colour and graphic vibrancy abound. Individual retail pods are fully customisable by incoming tenants, whilst still retaining an overall aesthetic to the site. A veritable hotbed of local independent food and drink producers, Cornucopia sure looks pretty swell to us, go check it out!

  • Cornucopia van

WMC Markets asked us to design and deliver a way of taking their message to the masses. That message was the regeneration of the old speedway site in St Austell, Cornwall into an independent foodie hub - centered around the humble Cornish pasty. So what did we come up with? A micro bakery delivering oven fresh produce, wrapped up in a pimped-up mini van, of course! Small enough to nip around local lanes, fully kitted-out for commercial catering and big on heart. Small definitely is beautiful.. Graphics by the wonderful leap

  • Base + Barley

Pioneering coffee brand Artigiano, called us up and asked if we'd help develop their new craft beer and sourdough pizza concept. We like pizza,we like beer and we sure like creating new concepts so said yes! straight-away. Working with the ridiculously talented graphics team at A-Side, Base + Barley was born. Using an authentic wood-fired pizza oven as the focal point, a riotous mix of simple materials and finishes, peppered with bold colours, formed the backdrop to the site. Throw-in 200 metres of bright magenta cord (to wrap 'dining pods'), a herringbone tiled mixed media bar and countless lengths of oiled natural oak - not to mention the sublime food and drinks on offer - results in..... something damn fine! • Gym Project

Exciting new start-up brand, Gym Project got in touch and asked if we could turn a dull office building into something exciting. Sure! we said and after some seriously hard work; behold their first venue. An industrial / Pop! mash-up of bright colours, neon striplights, polished concrete and a seriously cool rope wall transform the space into a workout mecca. Split into distinct areas, (cardio / weights / studio) the space is unrecognisable from what it once was. We're already dusting-off our neon spandex and string vest... Big shout out to Kingdom & Sparrow for talented graphic work

  • Cornish Bakehouse

Multi award winning purveyors of pasty's (..and all things tasty), Cornish Bakehouse, invited us to re-imagine their stores. Our response was to inject colour, texture and an aspiration to broaden their offering. A subtle industrial edge sits alongside warm oak whilst materials connected to the groups origins offer context. Suspended and internally illuminated boxes help to section the store into zones. Customers are now able to stop and sit on the cherry red stools, watching the display ovens bake fresh goodies all day. An amazing transformation, peppered with punchy graphics by Meor. Go see it (and get a pasty) it's nice!

  • Hubbox Truro

Supercool restaurant brand Hubbox, asked us to help re-imagine an old church into the latest arm of their ever expanding portfolio. The dark and dismal venue became transformed into a light-filled alter to cool industrialism, re-imagined materials and punchy graphics that have become synonymous with Hubbox. Mid-century furniture sit alongside dissected shipping containers while filament bulbs criss-cross overhead on festoon cables. In what must be a first for a venue of this type - you can even get a quick trim at the in-house barbers! An amazing transformation with a talented, dedicated team of creatives and workers that made it all happen. • JDW Container Bar

National  powerhouse, JD Wetherspoon, set us the exciting brief of delivering their first converted shipping container bar in Hillsborough. Used as the centre piece to a larger landscaped development, the bar was built off site before being dropped in place, becoming operational in a matter of days. FSC larch was used to clad the doors giving a warm and tactile narrative alongside the 'swimming baths' inspired bar front cladding. Vintage streetmaps of the area were referenced on the weather-proof canopy with local artists providing a mural to the rear. Best get yourself down there to experience it!

  • Brewdog Beer Truck

The UK's leading craft beer brewer, Brewdog, asked us to come up with a mobile concept they could tour the UK (..and beyond) with. Our response was this amazing beer truck mobile bar concept. Built from the ground up using a 7.5t MAN chassis, the beer truck was designed for minimum set-up and maximum impact. The bespoke 20ft shipping container body housed a fully operational bar (inc. unique servery 'pulpit') and cellar space allowing the Brewdog experience to be brought to the masses! • Meantime Container bar

Leading craft beer brewers, Meantime Brewery, invited us to design a semi-permanent converted shipping container bar by the O2 arena in London. Using three 20ft shipping containers, we developed the concept to feature an internal porch area, full length bar (with brewery fresh tanks) and cellar space behind. Best of all was the roof terrace, allowing customers to enjoy the view across the plaza. If all of that wasn't good enough, We Are Scientists only went and played a secret gig to mark the opening! Beer, bands and containers; pretty good mix to us. Photography by Casey Gutteridge

  • Hubbox Exeter

Following on from our work at Hub St Ives and the original Hubbox site in Truro; we helped turn a disgusting and derelict old bakery into this stripped back mecca to burgers, dogs and (craft) beers. Existing wall tiles were removed to expose the beautiful original brick, simple building materials were re-imagined and of course - a container housed the kitchen. In a pop-up ethos, we designed removable dining pods and servery counters on castors - allowing for adaptation and future change. Exposed ducting, strung festoon lighting and punchy graphics by Meor completed a remarkable turnaround. Go see it, it's quite nice! Photography by Matt Heritage
